Big Eye Ball

This very large eyeball just got loaded onto a trailer, bound for an Art company in Missouri that also had a 28 foot Paul Bunyan. F.A.S.T. Corporation (Fiberglass Animals Shapes and Trademarks) resides a few miles out of Sparta, WI. Worth stopping to browse around their huge yard. Chances are that you'll see one of their creatures along the Interstate Byways.

2007 GR3 - Ferryville Landing

2007 Great River Road Rally (GR3) at Soldiers Grove Wisconsin. A stop at nearby Ferryville to check out the Mississippi River

Ron Pasold's Collection

Near the Wisconsin River, just east of Blue River, Wis on Hwy 133, you'll find Ron Pasold's place. Very easy guy to talk to , but his place is hard to describe!

His 'creations' are mostly out of motorcycles. A couple of dozen cycles line his fence posts, along with hundreds of old helmets that people given him.

Skyline Drive - Shenandoah National Park

Skyline Drive in Virginia. Absolutely gorgeous views! On my way to the 2007 BMW RA Rally in Asheville, North Carolina.

Starting at the North End, I traveled the entire 105 miles length from Front Royal to Waynesboro (where Blue Ridge Parkway begins). During breakfast I met a guy from north of Detroit who was also going to the Rally. We rode hundred or so miles of the Parkway where I split off to visit friends near Raleigh, North Carolina.

High and Dry

Snapped while taking the long way home from the 'Wild Goose' run in Beaver Dam, the yearly kickoff ride for all the BMW clubs of Wisconsin.

Yes, it is near water. A creek is hidden on the left, but it would have to be one mighty big flood to get that trailer wet! I believe this was on County E, north of town. April 2006

Dugway Road - along Mississippi River

Fall ride in October 2006. Dugway Road, between Bagley and Glen Haven, one of my favorites. It's 3.5 miles of gravel with no connecting roads. Can be mushy during spring or fall, but not today. Rock outcrop goes half way over the road, so you drive right under it!

Great views of the Mississippi River, especially when there are less leaves on the trees. Cliffs on one side, drop offs and railroad tracks on the other. Not a good rode for two trucks to meet on, but plenty of room for two cycles!

Schettl's Freight Sales

I visited Schettl's Freight Sales, near Oshkosh, on the way back from Door County. Many 'one of a kind' things and most are for sale too. Lots of fiberglass statues and weird things made out of scrap metal, etc.. Below is one link that describes it.

Bay Shore County Park : Lake Michigan

Hi! I'm Jim Harms.
My blog name 1100RT97 refers to my 1997 BMW R1100RT motorcyle.

On my way to Sturgeon Bay for a wedding, I stopped at Bay Shore Park in Brown County. It is only a few miles south of Wisconsin's Door County, just off Highway 57. The 'thumb' part of the state. :)

Stay to the left, via a large cut through the rocks, to get down to the shore. You'll be greeted by great views of Lake Michigan!

The next day, it rained steady for the trip home. The BMW's fairing and adjustable windshield propelled most of it, but I still got plenty of stings on my face due to my three-quarter helmet. Shortly afterward, I purchased a full-faced white flip up. Makes a world of difference. June 2006
